Between Silver Light & Orange Shadow
September 7 - November 12 2012
All Day
In partnership with the University Galleries at the University of Florida, and Lori Bookstein Fine Art, NYC, New York artist Sisto presents Between Silver Light and Orange Shadow, 28 paintings created over the past ten years. The young women in her paintings are simultaneously interactive and introspective, and also some of her own art students. The paintings reach out to relate and also the viewer a chance to look within.
They are seemingly autobiographical or somehow familiar. Holding and impressive track record of important solo and group exhibitions, numerous residencies, workshops and grants, Sisto is an acclaimed artist who studied at the Rhode Island School of Design, Brown University and the New York Studio School. She currently teaches painting and drawing at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Between Silver Light and Orange Shadow will be on exhibit through Nov. 2. There will be an artist lecture on Thursday, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m.
The Freedom Tower is located at 600 Biscayne Blvd. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Saturday, noon – 5 p.m.
