The inaugural Bay Skate Miami event, winner of the Miami Foundation’s “Public Space Challenge”, will officially launch on Thursday, Feb 26th at Bayfront Park.

The FREE event will be in support of activating our public parks, giving back to our local community, supporting an active lifestyle, and promises to bring a one-of-a-kind roller skating and music experience to the heart of Downtown Miami.

General Session 5-7pm / Adult Skate Session 7:30-11pm

Emcee’d by classic hip hop legend Da Real Monie Love, and fueled by live music sets from top DJs, Bay Skate will set the vibe for an old-school, nostalgic experience where guests can skate, dance, eat, drink, and play.

For this special night, Bay Skate will convert the park’s iconic Claude Pepper Fountain into an authentic waterfront skating rink with concert sound/lighting, will offer skate rentals, shoe valet, food trucks, and activate Miami’s beautiful Bayfront Park and local community for which this event is dedicated to.

Old School, Funk, Freestyle, Soul, and other mixed genre classics

Food Trucks, Drinks, and Alcoholic Beverages available for purchase.

Vendors include COYO Taco, Sakaya Kitchen/Black Brick, and Wynwood Brewing Co.

Rentals and Shoe Valet Available (limited). Event still highly recommends bringing your own skates and protective gear.

Public Parking is available throughout the blocks surrounding park grounds, as well as covered parking in Bayside Marketplace which is next door to the event.

Metro Rail/Metro Mover, Miami Downtown Trolley, and Public Bus services all leave patrons directly in front of Bayfront Park.

Public transportation is encouraged to avoid parking and traffic concerns.


The Bay Skate community project was created and being produced by brothers Alex & Marcos Macias, and their award-winning local Integrated Creative Content & Brand Development Agency, Macias Advertising, along with good friends Maggie Fernandez from Sustainable Miami and Devin Cejas from Walk/Urban Landscape & Design.

IMPORTANT: All skaters and event participants will be required to fill out a Release/Waiver of Liability provided at the event and/or through other approved methods, in order to skate or participate in any of the activities. Participants will need to understand and agree that skating is dangerous activity, and that they assume all risks related to the event activities. All participants will agree to SKATE AT THEIR OWN RISK, and not hold liable the producers, organizers, and/or any other related entities of the event. Anyone under the age of 18, will be required to have the consent of an adult in order to participate in activities.
