The Confidante Miami Beach, a playful oceanfront oasis located in Miami Beach’s buzzing Mid-Beach neighborhood, is pleased to announce its first Art of the Cocktail Series partnership for 2020 with Miami-based Poet and Handwritten Artist, Renda Writer, who has created more than 250 “Handwritten Murals” in 8 countries, including 75 that are a part of his “World Peace Mural Tour.” Running for its third consecutive year, the solo artist exhibition is a platform unlike any other where artists display their artwork throughout the hotel for two months and mingle with locals and hotel guests at a kick off meet and greet cocktail reception featuring art-inspired cocktails, passed bites and live music from Miami musicians. The art-centric resort has hosted many renowned South Florida artists including Atomik, Ernesto Kunde, Luis Valle and most recently David “Lebo” Le Batard, who produced two permanent large-scale murals as part of the collaboration.

To kick off the 2020 Art of the Cocktail Series programming, a cocktail reception in the lobby will be hosted on February 13th from 7pm – 9pm, celebrating artist Renda Writer with live painting, curated Gin cocktails sponsored by Whitley Neill Gin, and libations by Studio Rosé by Miraval. Each bi-monthly exhibition is celebrated during a lively reception, dubbed the Art of the Cocktail Series featuring sponsorship support from Midtown Miami Magazine, alcohol sponsors, libations created in partnership with and named by the artist, live entertainment and a chance for locals to meet the artist while viewing the artist’s pieces throughout the first floor of the hotel.

 Renda’s pieces will be on display at The Confidante throughout the lobby until April 6, 2020. The program will continue throughout the year with a roster of bi-monthly talented local artists curated by The Confidante. Each Art of the Cocktail Series artist is given the platform and opportunity to creatively showcase their work whether it be a vibrant mural, sculpture or painting. Every piece of artwork showcased at The Confidante is also available for purchase, commission-free, during the artist’s residency.

 Born in New York, and based in Miami, Renda travels year-round creating Handwritten Murals and living out his dream.  He stands firmly behind the central idea expressed in his artist statement, where he says, “My goal as an artist is to make my handwriting into visual art and to shed light on the general idea that handwriting can be seen as art, reminding viewers that the art is in what the words say and mean, how they’re written, and most importantly… the energy that they carry.” He first started creating Handwritten Art in 2010, after several years as a Spoken Word Poet and has now evolved himself into a fully developed “Handwritten” brand, including canvas art, T-shirts, body art, murals, and other products. He has over 1,500 collectors worldwide and is grateful for every one of them.  Renda is also grateful to have worked with such distinctive brands and non-profits as: Puma, Sixt Rent-A-Car, The ACLU, Miami Dolphins,The W Hotel, Monte Blanc, Best Buddies, Hilton Hotels, Viacom/MTV, and Miami Dade Transit.
