45th Grand National Dancesport Championships,
October 29-November 1, 2015
presents the World’s top professional dance competitors.
One of the longest-running ballroom dance competitions in the United States, The Grand National Championships is celebrating its 45th year. The 2015 event is sure to be South Florida’s most “gala” ballroom dance extravaganza ever with more than 500 of the top professional and amateur dancers from across the country gathering to compete.
In addition to its 45-year tradition of bringing together amateur and Pro-Am competitors to vie for the title of Grand National Champion, this year’s competition will feature the 2015 WORLD PROFESSIONAL TEN-DANCE BALLROOM CHAMPIONSHIP. The top-ranked professional couples from around the World will compete for this most prestigious title – WORLD CHAMPION.
Authorized and sanctioned under the auspices of the World Dance Council (WDC) and the National Dance Council of America (NDCA), the competition is organized by Peter & Cassandra Schneider, in conjunction with the 45th Grand National Dancesport Championships, one of the longest running Dancesport Championships in the USA. Only two times before in the history of the World Professional Ten Dance Championships has the USA been honored to host these outstanding dancers from around the world!
The venue of the Ritz-Carton is an idyllic location, close to Miami International Airport, yet a world apart on its own tropical island paradise. Cassandra Schneider, Executive Secretary of the National Dance Council of America and former United States Amateur Champion, together with Peter Schneider, former Bavarian Latin Champion, and together World Exhibition finalists, will host this most prestigious event. With the support of their amazing staff at their company, Dance America, Inc., they work assiduously to guarantee the event will be one that the city, state, and country will be proud of.
In addition to the World Professional Championship, there are a multitude of other Open and Closed Championships—in all divisions from Professional, Amateur, Pro-Am, Senior, and Junior—beginning Thursday October 29th and culminating in the crowning of the Professional World Champions on Saturday evening, October 31st, 2015.
More than 20 countries will be represented at the competition. A legendary panel of adjudicators—from USA, Scotland, Italy, England, Germany, Austria, Norway, Russia, and Canada—will be present, many of them former World Champions themselves, to officiate and determine the Champions of the most physically difficult event in the World.
Ten-Dance Championships encompass the five International Standard dances: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, and the five International Latin Dances: Cha Cha, Samba Rumba, Paso Doble, and Jive. Couples in this Ten-Dance division must be masters of not only one division, Latin or Standard, but they must be unsurpassed in quality and artistry in all ten dances, making this one of the most difficult divisions in the world of dance.
Competitors will be announced one month prior to the event as their nominations from their respective countries are received.
