In just four years, our tropical cult has grown from a handful of nuts to a bunch of bananas! Local tastemakers, art supporters, photographers, culture enthusiasts, and writers come together on Tropicult to provide their own unique perspective on current events, and provide an inside look at the forces at work in Miami’s thriving arts community. Together, we’re creating a digital multimedia archive of the city we call home.
Recently, local photographer and curator, Sarah MK Moody (SMKM), joined the cult to document the otherwise uncelebrated impact artists and thinkers are making in our own backyards. Today, we are extremely pleased to announce yet another chapter in the grand narrative of the Magic City – introducing Tropicult’s new photo editor, SMKM!
SMKM will use emerging technologies to integrate photography into Tropicult’s online content. Consider this an open call for submissions – event photos, art photography, special photography projects, and personal photo essays, to be published on Tropicult.
For her premiere project as photo editor, SMKM is launching, FOTOCULT: AN INSTAGRAM TAKEOVER PROJECT, for which she will select different weekly Instagram users to post on behalf of Tropicult. This week’s takeover will be by SMKM herself!
