Our friend and loyal contributor, Rod Deal, has been selected to showcase his artwork as The Vagabond’s ‘Artist of the Month’ for the December Art Basel Edition. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, December 8th and will feature the musical stylings of French Express.
In terms of party vibes, this should be one of the hottest openings of the week and knowing Rod Deal’s keen eye, the artwork will embody its musical essence.
Cabba Blee aims to bring visual awareness through different artistic outlets. Last year, Cabba Blee and Ilett showcased ’Inlakech’- a three act performance to the Art Week crowd.
This year Cabba Blee proudly presents ‘Veru’ – a mobile installation with performance segments taking place inside of a truck.
By now you’ve probably heard that this Thursday, November 29th Gregg Shiembaum Fine Art Gallery opens it doors for the opening of AholSniffsGlue’s new exhibition – Snipers.

The Lost Beatles & Rolling Stones Photos – The Betsey Hotel
Contributed by Vanessa Haim
Every year, local tastemaker - Vanessa Haim, puts together her infamous Art Basel Week aka Art Week itinerary. It’s basically an insiders guide to all the must see’s and do’s of the week, with event deets and RSVP links and/or ticket information.
The document has become pretty well-known in the inner circle so when I got my copy last week I asked if she would share it with you all. She said yes, so here it is….
Consider yourselves lucky! And don’t forget to thank her for getting you in the know!
Rumors around The Vagabond’s owner, Carmel Ophir, opening a new bar soon have been flying high…
That being said, we thought it would be appropriate to publish on the web an interview previously printed by Alley Times - the one and only interview to date where Carmel shares any info on the new project, Barfly.
English television TV host Bill Grundy once referred to the Sex Pistols as “not the nice, clean Rolling Stones” (not that the ‘Stones were really ‘clean’ themselves anyways), but with a bang, the Sex Pistols exploded onto the English punk scene and nearly dissipated just as quickly as they had arrived.
Yet tonight at The Vagabond, former ‘Pistol Glen Matlock will play his own tunes, stripped down acoustically and prove that the “not nice” and “unclean” punks could still play the roof off any venue.
