Meet Alexis Frias aka 8-Bit Lexicon, maker of pixel art – illustration, street art, portraits, sculptures and 3-D art. 8-Bit Lexicon is the official resident artist of Block x Blog Music and Arts Festival.  See: Block x Blog Does FTL)

With a little help from 8-Bit Lexixon and friends, the festival will showcase pop culture, video game protagonists, 8-bit aesthetics, interactivity and all-around arcade nostalgia.

TREK 6: Through The Looking Glass [Photo Gallery]

Trek6, the man behind the infamous “Boombox” in Wynwood, has been a contributing member of Miami’s blooming street art scene since the late 80s with over a dozen murals throughout the great City of Miami.

Taking his street art to the canvas, Trek6 celebrated the unveiling of his first solo exhibit, ”Through the Looking Glass” at Hand Crafted Miami on Saturday, March 16th  with pure aerosol pieces that pay tribute to the likes of Andy Warhol and Jackie O sporting eyewear from the Eyemax Collection.

DWNTWN HOLLYWOOD MURAL PROJECT [Introspective]


IMG_6533Every now and again I find myself longing to adventure, a getaway from the Miami madness. Some weekends I get on the road, sometimes on the A1A, and I head North with no particular destination in mind. These day trips have become my favorite way of exploring South Florida.

Word is that the Downtown Hollywood historic arts and entertainment district is transforming into a vibrant live music hot spot. This year, the City of Hollywood also initiated the Downtown Hollywood Mural Project to curate contemporary outdoor murals by some of our favorite local artist, including Luis Pinto and Jessy Nite, at key locations in Downtown Hollywood.

And so, my last day trip which had started off as a quest for bargain antiques, became a street art treasure hunt in Downtown Hollywood…
