The Wolfsonian has joined forces with innovative design company Mr Somebody & Mr Nobody to present the company’s signature Afro pop-up shop at Wynwood Art Fair 2011.

Part commercial endeavor, part art installation, and part design exhibition, the pop-up shop showcases Mr Somebody & Mr Nobodys, a playful yet nostalgic brand of designed objects inspired by Africa and United States.
The collection invokes a fictional world that explores the immigrant experience of the company’s South African founders, artists Heidi Chisholm and Sharon Lombard.
The items in this contemporary version of a market stall include highly crafted wooden chickens and multi-purpose “khanga” cloths like those used in East Africa for sarongs, carrying cloths, political propaganda, and more.
